SS 317L Tubes also offer higher creep, stress-to-rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperature. SS 317L Pipes provides good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 1600°F and in continuous service to 1700°F. SS 317L Tubes has increased resistance to chemical attack from acids, where lower carbon content leads to resistance to sensitization when welded. 317L SS Pipes provides improved resistance in strongly corrosive environments containing sulfurous media, chlorides, and other halides. 317L Stainless Steel Tubes are used in the Food, Pharmaceutical, Marine and Architecture industries. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, Alloy 317L Pipes has been used in handling many of the chemicals used by the chemical process industries.
Alloy 317L Tubes is intended where it is required to have corrosion resistance to strong organic acids, such as the naphthenic acids found in the petroleum refining. In addition, annealing of Stainless Steel 317L Seamless Pipes can be performed on both grades between 1850 Degree F and 2050 Degree F, followed by rapid cooling. Our SS 317L Welded Tubes is a low-carbon stainless steel with increased additions of chromium, nickel and molybdenum for better corrosion resistance than type 316L.
